Dear Church,
This Summer I felt a calling to make some better, healthier decisions in my eating habits, choosing to spend less time in the drive thru and more time eating from home. My freezer is filled with frozen fruits and my counter has a variety of protein powders for quick, healthy options when there isn’t time to cook a full meal.
This month, I want to start the same type of cleanse for my spiritual diet. Spending a week away at camp without cell phone reception or wifi disconnected me from my phone and my technologies and reminded me that I need less time on screens and more time in face to face contact with God and with others.
I am choosing to start my day with a daily prayer, using the lyrics of contemporary artist Matt Maher’s song titled Lord, I need You.
Lord I come I confess
Bowing here I find my rest
And without You I fall apart
You’re the one that guides my heart
Lord I need You oh I need You
Ev’ry hour I need You
My one defense my righteousness
Oh God how I need You
So teach my song to rise to You
When temptation comes my way
And when I cannot stand I’ll fall on You
Jesus You’re my hope and stay
Lord I need You oh I need You
Ev’ry hour I need You
My one defense my righteousness
Oh God how I need You
Blessings,
Pastor Stacy
