Welcome and Call to Worship
Leader: Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised;
People: His greatness is unsearchable.
Leader: One generation shall laud your works to another,
People: And shall declare your mighty acts.
Leader: On the glorious splendor of your majesty,
People: And on your wondrous works, I will meditate.
Leader: The might of your awesome deeds shall be proclaimed,
People: And I will declare your greatness.
(Psalm 145:3-5, NRSV)
Opening Hymn — #133 “Leaning on the Everlasting Arms”
1. What a fellowship,
what a joy divine,
leaning on the everlasting arms;
what a blessedness,
what a peace is mine,
leaning on the everlasting arms.
Refrain
Leaning, leaning,
safe and secure from all alarms;
leaning, leaning,
leaning on the everlasting arms.
2. O how sweet to walk
in this pilgrim way,
leaning on the everlasting arms;
O how bright the path
grows from day to day,
leaning on the everlasting arms.
Refrain
3. What have I to dread,
what have I to fear,
leaning on the everlasting arms?
I have blessed peace
with my Lord so near,
leaning on the everlasting arms.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power, and glory forever. Amen.
For those who are called and able, gifts and tithes can still be made through online giving, by mailing them in, and by dropping them off to the office through the secure mail slot to the left of the double door entry to the church hallway.

Offertory Prayer
Holy giver of all good blessings, we find ourselves under a debt we can never overcome. Every blessing we have received or hope to receive comes from your generosity. The gifts we bring to you this morning pale in comparison to the bottom line of our ledger. Yet you manage your kingdom on a different economic model—one where the equity is grace, forgiveness, compassion, mercy, and justice. You encourage us to be shrewd in the world’s money, knowing it is not the currency that matters in the end. And so, we pray in the name of Jesus, whose life and death paid our debt. Amen.
(Luke 16:1-13)
Scripture Reading — Proverbs 16:1-9 (NRSV)
1 The plans of the mind belong to mortals,
but the answer of the tongue is from the LORD.
2 All one’s ways may be pure in one’s own eyes,
but the LORD weighs the spirit.
3 Commit your work to the LORD,
and your plans will be established.
4 The LORD has made everything for its purpose,
even the wicked for the day of trouble.
5 All those who are arrogant are an abomination to the LORD;
be assured, they will not go unpunished.
6 By loyalty and faithfulness iniquity is atoned for,
and by the fear of the LORD one avoids evil.
7 When the ways of people please the LORD,
he causes even their enemies to be at peace with them.
8 Better is a little with righteousness
than large income with injustice.
9 The human mind plans the way,
but the LORD directs the steps.

“If So,”
Closing Hymn — #572 “Pass It On”
1. It only takes a spark
to get a fire going,
And soon all those around,
can warm up in its glowing.
That’s how it is with God’s love,
once you’ve experienced it,
You spread his love
to everyone,
you want to pass it on.
2. What a wondrous time is spring,
When all the trees are budding;
The birds begin to sing,
the flowers start their blooming.
That’s how it with God’s love,
once you’ve experienced it,
You want to sing,
it’s fresh like spring,
you want to pass it on.
3. I wish for you my friend,
this happiness that I’ve found,
You can depend on him,
it matters not where you’re bound.
I’ll shout it from the mountain top,
I want my world to know,
The Lord of Love has come to me,
I want to pass it on.
