First Annual “Friendsgiving” Meal

First Annual “Friendsgiving” Meal

Dear Church,

A newer tradition in our culture is “Friendsgiving,” a meal spent with friends around a Thanksgiving meal. This tradition celebrates the important people in our life and gives us an opportunity to give thanks with them around a good meal and with good conversation.

I am thankful for each of you and the way you bless my life and our ministry together and so I want to offer you an opportunity to attend our first Friendsgiving at Torrance First UMC on Wednesday, November 27, at noon. I will be roasting turkeys and cooking some traditional side dishes and I invite you to bring a favorite holiday dish to share.  We will give thanks, share in our blessings, sing a few hymns and have a wonderful time as church family. If you have a way that you would like to bless our meal, whether it is through a song, a poem, a scripture or a prayer, please let me know and I will add you to the scheduled blessings for the meal. This is a time to celebrate our blessings, to be blessed and to be a blessing.

An RSVP list will be in the sanctuary lobby beginning November 3 and friends of yours are always welcome to join our table for this blessed event, the more the merrier in God’s house!

Again, I give thanks for the honor and privilege of being your pastor and I look forward to celebrating this season with you.

Blessings,
Pastor Stacy
