Greetings, Brothers and Sisters in Christ!
By the time you read this article we will have wrapped up all the leftovers from Thanksgiving and many of us will have our Christmas decorations up and ready for the season. The kids have been working on their musical pageant for weeks now and preparations are being made for the Christmas tea, Filipino Christmas party, music Sunday and Simbang Gabi. I pray your calendars are marked for all of these wonderful opportunities to gather with your church family to celebrate the reason for the season – the birth of our savior, Jesus Christ.
To remind us of the message of the season I invite you to join us for worship on Sunday mornings as we use the classic film, “It’s a Wonderful Life,” to remind us that God dwells with us in the trying and difficult times as well as through the joyous times. I also invite you to join us on Tuesday mornings at 10:00 to study Max Lucado’s book, Because of Bethlehem, as we remember that “the One who made everything chose to make himself nothing and come into our world,” and that “Jesus’ birth gives us the promise that God is always near us, always for us, and always within us.”
Finally, we will reach the pinnacle of the season on December 24 as we come together at 7:00 to celebrate Christmas Eve with carols, candles and Christ’s presence. As the song says, “it’s the most wonderful time of the year,” and I cannot wait to celebrate through it with each of you.
Merry Christmas and Maligayang Pasko to you!
Blessings, Pastor Stacy
