It seems like everything has been getting back on track as we enter the month of September. The school classrooms are already filled with excitement for the new school year. The atmosphere of busyness on the streets has resumed after the long summer vacation. In our church, our vibrant Sunday School started the new school year; the amazing choir is getting back from a month break; the profound adult Bible Study also resumes in the first week of September.
So on the “back-on-track” month of September, it is a good time to remind and reflect on our fundamental faith practices. What are the things that we do to nurture our relationship with God? How can we make sure that these practices are still relevant to our lives today?
Here are a few basic faith practices that we can all benefit from:
- Worship: Worship is our way of expressing our love and adoration for God. It can be done through singing, praying, reading the Bible, or simply spending time in God’s presence with joyful hearts.
- Education: As Christians, we are called to grow in our understanding of God and the Word of God. We can do this through Sunday School, Bible study, and even reading appropriate Christian books and articles.
- Mission: Mission is our way of sharing God’s love with others. We can do this through volunteering, serving in our community, or simply being a witness to those around us.
These are just a few of the many ways that we can nurture our faith. As we reflect on our faith practices this month, let us ask God to help us to grow in our deeper relationship with God.
“And God is able to provide you with every blessing in abundance, so that by always having enough of everything, you may share abundantly in every good work.” (2 Corinthians 9:8, NRSV)
With love In Christ,
