Welcome and Opening Prayer
Opening Prayer
O God,
We gather together in Your presence with expectation,
hungry for an encounter with You,
eager to hear Your Word.
Open our eyes and ears to the presence of Your Holy Spirit.
May the seeds of Your Word scattered among us this morning
fall on fertile soil.
May they take root in our hearts and lives,
and produce an abundant harvest
of good words and deeds.
We pray this in the name of Jesus Christ,
our teacher and our Lord.
Amen.
Opening Song — Open The Eyes Of My Heart – Messenger
Chorus
Open the eyes of my heart Lord
Open the eyes of my heart
I want to see You
I want to see You

To see You high and lifted up
Shining in the light of Your glory
Pour out Your power and love
As we sing holy holy holy
Bridge
Holy holy holy
Holy holy holy
Holy holy holy
I want to see You

Scripture Reading — Matthew 13:1-9 (NRSV)
1 That same day Jesus went out of the house and sat beside the sea. 2 Such great crowds gathered around him that he got into a boat and sat there, while the whole crowd stood on the beach. 3 And he told them many things in parables, saying: “Listen! A sower went out to sow. 4 And as he sowed, some seeds fell on the path, and the birds came and ate them up. 5 Other seeds fell on rocky ground, where they did not have much soil, and they sprang up quickly, since they had no depth of soil. 6 But when the sun rose, they were scorched; and since they had no root, they withered away. 7 Other seeds fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked them. 8 Other seeds fell on good soil and brought forth grain, some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty. 9 Let anyone with ears listen!”
Joys and Concerns, Pastoral Prayer
Pastoral Prayer
God of harvest,
gardener supreme,
you place us at the center,
feed us, equip us and,
having provided for us,
look to a different harvest—
a fruitfulness of lives
in service to you
and others.
God of harvest,
feed us
prune us
harvest us
that our lives
might bring glory to you.
Amen.
Offering Our Gifts to the Lord
For those who are called and able, gifts and tithes can still be made through online giving, by mailing them in, and by dropping them off to the office through the secure mail slot to the left of the double door entry to the church hallway.

Offertory Prayer
God of the cosmos and God of every heartbeat: Your work touches every corner of creation; yet, when times are hard, we wonder if you’ve deserted us, and we become tight-fisted and fearful that sharing with others will leave us empty handed. As we bring these gifts to your altar, give us the eyes to see and the hearts to know that you never desert us and never send us away in need. In the name of your Son who came to remind us of your closeness and to give his life so that ours might be eternal. Amen.

Closing Song — Jesus is Changing Me – Messenger
Little by little, every day
Little by little, in every way
Jesus is changing me
(He’s changing me)
Since I made that turnabout face
I’ve been growing in his grace
Jesus is changing me
He’s changing me
my blessed Savior
I’m not the same person
that I used to be
Though it’s been slow in growing
There’s a knowing
someday perfect I will be
And because he lives
I can face tomorrow
Because he lives all fear is gone
Because I know, I know
he holds the future
And life is worth the living
just because he lives
He’s changing me
my blessed Savior
I’m not the same person
that I used to be
Though it’s been slow in growing
There’s a knowing
someday perfect I will be
And because he lives
I can face tomorrow
Because he lives all fear is gone
Because I know, I know
he holds the future
And life is worth the living
just because he lives

Benediction
Go now into the world, strengthened by the gifts
with which Christ has fed you.
Be generous to others, for Christ has given extravagantly.
Live by God’s word, avoiding lies and violence.
Walk in God’s paths and never stray.
And may God’s wonderful love be with you everywhere;
May Christ Jesus feed you with his body and word;
And may the Holy Spirit confirm the truth in you
…and fill you with God’s presence always.
We go in peace to love and serve the Lord,
…In the name of Christ. Amen.
