Welcome and Opening Prayer
Opening Prayer
Lord God, through Jesus you opened the eyes of the blind;
you healed the sick and you fed the hungry.
We give you thanks and praise for your mercy and your love.
Loving Father, by the Spirit you restore strength to the weary
and give hope to those who are in despair.
We give you thanks and praise for your mercy and your love.
You call us Lord to proclaim your deeds and your wonders to all people,
You call us to worship and serve you that all may be made whole.
You offer us a new life of righteousness.
We give you thanks and praise for your mercy and your love.
Make us worthy, O Lord, to receive all your gifts.
Descend on us like the light of a new day
give light to our souls
and put your praise upon our lips. Amen.

Opening Hymn — #395 Take Time to Be Holy (v. 1-3)
1. Take time to be holy
Speak oft with thy Lord
Abide in Him always
And feed on His Word
Make friends with God’s children
Help those who are weak
Forgetting in nothing
His blessing to seek
2. Take time to be holy
The world rushes on
Spend much time in secret
With Jesus alone
By looking to Jesus
Like Him thou shalt be
Thy friends in thy conduct
His likeness shall see
3. Take time to be holy
Let Him be thy Guide
And run not before Him
Whatever betide
In joy or in sorrow
Still follow thy Lord
And looking to Jesus
Still trust in His Word
Take Time to Be Holy

Scripture Reading — Mark 1:29-39 (NRSV)
29 As soon as they left the synagogue, they entered the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John. 30 Now Simon’s mother-in-law was in bed with a fever, and they told him about her at once. 31 He came and took her by the hand and lifted her up. Then the fever left her, and she began to serve them.
32 That evening, at sundown, they brought to him all who were sick or possessed with demons. 33 And the whole city was gathered around the door. 34 And he cured many who were sick with various diseases, and cast out many demons; and he would not permit the demons to speak, because they knew him.
35 In the morning, while it was still very dark, he got up and went out to a deserted place, and there he prayed. 36 And Simon and his companions hunted for him. 37 When they found him, they said to him, “Everyone is searching for you.” 38 He answered, “Let us go on to the neighboring towns, so that I may proclaim the message there also; for that is what I came out to do.” 39 And he went throughout Galilee, proclaiming the message in their synagogues and casting out demons.

Pastoral Prayer
Holy Spirit:
With astonishment,
we see that you renew our strength
constantly.
Allow us not to forget
your presence,
Even in adversity.
And,
in our turn,
we will renew our gratefulness
and we will sing
for your love.
Amen
Offering Our Gifts to the Lord

Offertory Prayer
Lord we know your healing hands, as we have felt them upon our lives. We know your hope filled heart, as you have knowledge beyond what we are going through. And we know our faith can move mountains when we invite you in. Bless our offerings this morning to help bring healing, hope and faith to those in our church family and those beyond these walls. In Christ’s miraculous name we pray, amen.

Closing Hymn — #569 We’ve A Story To Tell To The Nations (v. 1-3)
1. We’ve a story to tell to the nations
That shall turn their hearts to the right
A story of truth and sweetness
A story of peace and light
A story of peace and light
Refrain
For the darkness shall turn to dawning
And the dawning to noonday bright
And Christ’s great kingdom shall come to earth
The kingdom of love and light
2. We’ve a song to be sung to the nations
That shall lift their hearts to the Lord
A song that shall conquer evil
And shatter the spear and sword
And shatter the spear and sword
Refrain
3. We’ve a message to give to the nations
That the Lord who reigneth above
Hath sent us His Son to save us
And show us that God is love
And show us that God is love

Communion Blessing and Benediction
O Lord God, heavenly Father, we praise and thank you for your grace that through your Son Jesus Christ you established this supper in which we eat his body and drink his blood.
By your Holy Spirit, help us to use this gift worthily, to confess and forsake our sins, to confidently believe that we are forgiven through Christ, and to grow in faith and love day by day until we come at last to the joy of eternal salvation, through Jesus Christ, your Son, our Lord. Amen.
Go forth…
…replenished by the grace and mercy of God,
…blessed by the healing love of Jesus,
…energized by the limitless power of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
