Reflection and Renewal as We Begin 2025

Reflection and Renewal as We Begin 2025

Dear Family and Friends of First UMC of Torrance,

As the calendar turns to 2025, we stand at the threshold of a new year filled with promise, opportunities, and hope. This season is a time for reflection and renewal—a moment to reaffirm our identity as a church, dream boldly about our future, and recommit to God’s work.

In 1 Corinthians 12:27, the Apostle Paul reminds us, “Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.” As the Body of Christ, we are uniquely gifted to serve together in harmony for God’s glory. This unity calls us to embrace one another in love and build a vibrant community of faith. Each of us has a role to play, and our collective strength comes from our oneness in Christ.

Isaiah 43:19 proclaims, “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?” Even in challenging times, we can trust that God is at work, renewing and restoring us. This is a season to open our hearts to God’s leading and seek fresh ways to share His love with our community and beyond.

As we begin 2025, let us dream together about God’s provision and vision for our church. How can we deepen worship, strengthen discipleship, and expand outreach? How can we create spaces where people of all ages feel welcomed, valued, and inspired to grow in faith? These are questions we will explore together, trusting in God’s wisdom and provision.

I invite you to recommit to being part of this amazing faith community. Imagine the impact we can make when we unite in Christ’s name to serve, love, and share the Good News. Let us embrace the joy of life and ministry together, knowing that when we gather in faith, we are empowered to achieve far more than we could ever imagine.

May 2025 be a year of growth, renewal, and boundless hope for our church family. Let us move forward with gratitude and faith, ready to embrace all that God has in store for us.

With love and hope in Christ,

Pastor Jacob
