Building A Vibrant, God-Pleasing Church

Building A Vibrant, God-Pleasing Church

Dear Beloved Church Family and Friends of First UMC of Torrance,

As August dawns, bringing with it a new school year and a season brimming with possibilities, I dream of the revitalization of our church activities with joy and excitement. I envision a future that pleases God and fosters a vibrant community.

The past few years have tested our resilience, and while the forecast of our future path is not a sunlit, smooth road, these challenges have also illuminated the strength and unity within our church. One of the greatest joys of being a church family is the sense of belonging and community we share. After the isolation many of us experienced, let’s rediscover the joy of being together. Attend services, start a new small group, proactively volunteer for a ministry, or simply reach out to church families. Each interaction strengthens our bonds and brings us closer as a family in Christ. I encourage everyone to bring their unique gifts and talents to the table. Together, we can create dynamic and meaningful experiences that reflect our love for God and each other.

Let us continue to dream big about our future as a church. Envision a place where all generations come together to worship, learn, and serve—a church that is a beacon of hope and love in our community. A place where we find joy in being together, supporting one another, and growing in our faith. This vision can become a reality through our collective efforts and dedication.

As we move forward, let us do so with faith and confidence that God is with us every step of the way. Our journey ahead may have its challenges, but with God’s guidance and our collective spirit, we can overcome any obstacle and flourish as a church. I invite each of you to pray for our church as we embark on this journey. Together, let’s build a vibrant, God-pleasing church that brings joy and hope to all.

Blessings, Pastor Jacob
