Loving God, Loving Neighbor

Loving God, Loving Neighbor

Brothers and Sisters,

I was inspired as I recently heard Becky explain to the children that this next year of Sunday school would encompass the theme, “Loving God, Loving Neighbor.”

I thought about how much our world needs a more committed love for God and a deeper love for one another. With this, our annual stewardship campaign is inspired by our children and will be titled, “Loving God, Loving Neighbor.” I am inviting all of us to go on a 20-day journey, beginning October 1, through scripture devotions and prayer that will hopefully inspire us in ways that will help us grow in our love for God and our love for our neighbor, becoming beacons of hope for those around us. Each day will include a scripture reading and an area of our church ministry or our community to be in prayer for.

The journey will not end with our commitment Sunday on October 20 but will be the launching point for a year of ministry with an emphasis on our faith, how it is lived out in our daily lives and how it impacts our church ministry. Our commitment cards will not only challenge us in our financial commitment to the Lord, but also our time, talent and witness commitment to the Lord.

I encourage you to prayerfully consider the ways that you desire to grow in love over the next year and what steps of commitment you are willing to take to foster that growth. Let the journey begin!

Blessings,  Pastor Stacy
