Our logo defines and describes what it means to be a part of the First United Methodist Church of Torrance faith community.

Each title describes a different aspect of our faith journey. We strive to live our lives through each of these areas—through our welcoming others, worshipping in the community, belonging to a fellowship or study group, growing in our faith, and serving within the church and community.

Welcoming

Welcoming begins when we invite someone to church. We are involved several important ministries of welcoming. These include the greeters at the door, the ushers and the congregation during the time of passing the peace and during fellowship following the service.

Worshiping

We believe that it is important that to be involved in a worshipping community every week.

Belonging

We need to belong to a small fellowship group within the church. This is where we connect a a deeper level than we can in worship. We have many fellowship and study groups where we can belong.

Growing

Spiritural growth is essential for our journey in faith. We need to be involved in some form of Bible study, prayer group, or practicing spiritual disciplines.

Serving

Serving others is fundimental to our call to follow Christ. We have many opportunities to serve within the chruch, and there are opportuinties in the community for serving others as well.
